"Humankind did not weave the web of life. We are but strands within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves."

--Chief Seattle, Native American Leader (1786-1866)

The conference will begin on Saturday, August 26th, 2006. We have chosen to end the conference on August 28th, because that is the anniversary of the day on which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I have a dream" speech to about 250,000 people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Many people know that he gave the speech, but not many realize that he gave that keynote speech as part of a March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. It was a speech in which he spoke of peace, equality and multiracial unity. No matter where you are in the world, we hope that you will join us as we continue to seek peace in the world.
